We can all take a deep breath! NASA just announced that 2012-12-12 is not the day when we have to say goodbye to our earth.
Today, NASA's spokesperson Alex Young informed the world that we can drop the false claims of some kind of world ending due to the sun. He claims that the sun has a cycle of disruption every 11th year, which in a long story short causes the sun to have internal earthquakes with explosions that are pushed out in our universe. In 2012 it is time for the sun to re-enter its cycle, however we cannot be sure that it is on the exact date (12/12), and Young claims that we won't be more affected on 2012 than we would have been any other period. Nevertheless, the sun flares are “not physically capable of destroying the earth”; our planet has a strong “defense umbrella” against the weekly sun storms that are happening around our planet. This means that we are not directly affected by the storms more than a satellite disruption – we cannot watch our favorite show (which for some is the end of the world).
It is true that the Maya Calendar ends on that specific year and day, but NASA claims that it is just a coincidence, and we should not worry about it.
The most interesting part is that when you read about the Mayan calendar it has two different speculations;
“The end of the world” and “The beginning of a new era”.
Why we are so quick do decide that it is the end of our planet is still a big question mark.
Let us just believe in NASA's prediction and the Mayan Calendar, this is just the beginning of a new era.
NASA, 2012, end of the world, Maya calendar,
